Police have appealed for witnesses following a serious collision in Paignton yesterday, Thursday 15 December.
Emergency Services were called to reports of a three vehicle collision on Totnes Road at around 2.40pm.
The collision involved a bronze Honda HR-V, a parked unoccupied blue Kia Picanto and a grey Mercedes E350. The Honda driver, a man in his 60s from Torbay, was trapped in his vehicle and extracted by the fire service. He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The female driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.
The road was closed for more than seven hours to carry out an investigation of the scene and for vehicle recovery.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They are keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
