Appeal to locate man who has gone missing whilst on trip to Torquay

Update: Royston has been found safe and well.

Police have appealed to the public to help them locate a man who has gone missing whilst on a trip to Torquay.

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the vulnerable 79yr old man who hasn’t returned to the guest house he was staying in.

Royston (Roy) Hawkes was last seen by guest house owners in Avenue Road on the morning of Thursday 29th June 2023. He stated he was going in to town. He is believed to have visited Nat West Bank in Union Street the same day.

He is known to frequent betting shops and has visited the area previously some years ago.
Roy left his Home in South Wales on the morning of Wednesday 28th June 21023; not telling friends or family about his trip. He has talked about visiting Torquay and the Isle of Wight with them recently.
Police, family and friends are concerned for the Welfare of Roy who has issues with his mobility.

Any sighting or information in relation to Roy should be reported to the Police immediately on 999 quoting Log 282 of 30/06/2023
