Police have appealed for witnesses after a man sustained serious injuries following a motorcycle accident in Kingsbridge on Friday, 23rd March.
Emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle collision on Stentiford Hill.
The incident involved a Red Honda XR 125cc motorcycle which was travelling north towards Loddiswell from Kingsbridge.
As a result of the incident, a 19-year-old man from the Kingsbridge area, sustained serious lower limb injuries.
The man was airlifted to Derriford Major Trauma centre by Coastguard helicopter.
The man’s sister Sophie Hyne posted to Kingsbridge Police’s Facebook page:
“Hi All, I would like to say a massive thank you to all the emergency services who assisted in helping rescue and treating my brother during the motorcycle accident yesterday evening in Kingsbridge. You all did a wonderful job in recovering him from scene of the accident in tricky working and weather conditions. You also did a fantastic job in keeping me and my mum reassured and up to date with his condition.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the passer by who found my brother and contacted my mum and the emergency services.
“My brother is currently still being treated in hospital but is doing well and is on his way to recovery.
“We; myself, mum and brother are extremely grateful to all those who were involved last night and would ,again, like to say a massive thank you to you all”
Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward by contacting police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting log number 831 23/03/18.
