If your child was born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2010, they will be due to transfer to secondary school in September 2021.

We are currently accepting applications for secondary school places, with parents and carers urged to make their application by 31 October.

For this year only, parents can give 4 preferences for secondary schools as we are expecting the date for selective tests to be postponed until 17 October, with test outcomes not being known prior to application deadline of 31 October.

Cllr Cordelia Law, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Torbay Council, said: “It is extremely important that parents make their applications by 31 October, any applications received after the closing date could mean that your child doesn’t get into the school you have applied for”.

Due to COVID-19 schools have not been able to offer open days or evenings, but are looking into alternative arrangements. Parents are advised to contact individual schools for specific details.

Secondary school applications can be made through our website, if you require an alternative format please contact pupil.services@torbay.gov.uk or call them on 01803 208908.

Parents will be notified of secondary school allocations in March 2021.

Full details on the application process can be found via: https://www.torbay.gov.uk/secondary-place-2021
