Emergency services, including armed police attended an incident on Occombe Valley Road this lunch time.
Residents state that a man had barricaded himself inside a house and locals are suggesting a gun was involved.
Police closed the road and numerous emergency services vehicles attended the scene.
The police helicopter was seen hovering in the area.
