Police investigate death of a baby in Newton Abbot

Police are investigating the death of an 8 month old baby in Newton Abbot.

Police were called to Brownhills Road by ambulance crews just after 10.30am this morning informing them of the death.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police said:
“Police and scenes of crime officers have attended the house to undertake initial investigations and we are currently treating the death as unexplained.

“A 27-year-old man is in police custody in connection with this matter and awaits questioning,”
