A body found in Newton Abbot has been identified as missing man Shaun Brown.
33-year-old Shaun from Kingsteignton was last seen on Thursday 18 March.
Shaun’s next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at 1.15pm on Friday 5 November to the Teigngrace area, Newton Abbot, following reports that a body had been located.
“Officers attended the scene to carry out further enquiries and human remains were recovered.
“Formal identification has since taken place and the body is that of 33-year-old Shaun Brown, who was reported missing from the Newton Abbot area in March; his next of kin has been informed.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.”
Shaun’s sister Laura Vickery said on Facebook yesterday, in a group set up to help find him : “November 5th we had a knock on the door. Remains had been found. Unfortunately we had the news yesterday to confirm that it is Shaun. We are absolutely devastated. Shaun Brown we love you and you will be forever missed.”
