Campervan destroyed by fire

A campervan was destroyed by a fire in Ashburton yesterday, Sunday 5th January.

The fire service were called to reports of a campervan on fire at Halshanger Cross yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters from Bovey Tracey and Buckfastleigh were mobilised to the incident.

Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue service said on their website: “On arrival, crews confirmed on campervan well alight and requested the attendance of two additional appliances, which came from Newton Abbot.

“Firefighters used a hose reel jet, a compressed air foam jet and two breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the fire.

“The campervan was completely destroyed by fire and the cause was determined as accidental.”
