A cat has been rescued after spending the night on a roof in Torquay.

Bella, 2, was stuck on the roof of a house for 38 hours. She was rescued following an appeal on Facebook community page Spotted Torquay.

Bella found her way onto the roof but was unable to find her way to safety, with her owners fearing she may be injured.

Richard Hammond of Roofseal Roofing Contractors attended the property to offer assistance immediately after a customer of his alerted him to the appeal on Spotted this morning.

Richard told us “It was a bit hairy without a scaffold but managed with the help of some neighbours.”

Richard to the rescue

Bella’s owner, Suzy Beer posted the following update: “Richard Hammond has rescued our cat after she has spent 38 hours on the roof. Thank you so much Richard. We are so very grateful for your assistance and are totally in your debt. Thank you to everybody who showed concern and support here on facebook and in the local community.”

Bella is said to be uninjured and enjoying her food!
