Firefighters in Newton Abbot came to the rescue to a stranded cat in the River Lemon this morning, 6th July.
One fire engine from Newton Abbot was mobilised to the incident at around 9am.

One fire fighter, Gary Robinson, went into the water and rescue the cat.
A spokesperson for Newton Abbot Fire Station said on Facebook:
“It was an incident to remember for one of our two new recruits, as it was Firefighter Daniel Harrity’s first ever emergency call out. You always remember your first ‘shout’,”
