Fire crews called to chip shop fire in Preston

Fire service called to child stuck in stair gate

Fire crews were called to a reports of a fire at a fish and chip shop on Old Torquay Road, Preston last night.

Two fire engines attended the incident at Ocean Wild Fish Bar at around 11.30pm

A spokesperson for the police said:
“On arrival crews confirmed that there was smoke issuing. The fire involved a deep fat fryer in the fish and chip shop.  The fire was contained to the compartment of the fryer and crews used 1 hose reel, 1 safety jet, 2 breathing apparatus, 1 positive pressure ventilation fan and small tools to deal with the incident.  The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental”
