Clothes found on the beach sparks search

These items were left on the beach

Emergency services were called to Paignton yesterday afternoon after clothes and a mobile phone were found on the beach.

It is thought that the items may belong to a man who had gone skinny dipping the night before. Police now have the items and are looking to return them to their owner.

A spokesperson for Torbay Coastguard said:
“Full team page to Paignton Beach after reports of clothes and a mobile phone found on the beach.

“We sent out two search teams to do a shoreline search from Preston Beach to Paignton Harbour, nothing found.

“During the search information came to light of a male this morning looking for his clothes after going for a drunken skinny dip last night, the police now have the items and are looking to return them to the owner,”

If you are the owner of these items or have any information you can contact the police on 101 quoting log 472 of April 30.
