Coastguard crews were called to reports of a dog over a cliff in Brixham this afternoon, 31st May.
Berry Head coastguard attended the incident, backed up by Torbay coastguard.
Initially, Rolo – a chocolate labrador could not be seen over the edge of the cliff at Landscove holiday park, fortunately the cliff technician noticed some bushes moving and located the dog so she was able to be rescued and reunited with her owners.
Berry Head Coastguard reminded people to keep their dogs on leads, saying:
“Remember, always keep dogs on leads near cliff tops and if yours or someone else’s dog goes over a cliff don’t attempt a rescue yourself – call 999 and ask for the Coastguard,”
Rolo suffered from a scratch on her nose, with no other injuries.
