The Court is partnering with Reuben Lenkiewicz, Robert’s son, to curate a celebration of the work produced by one of the South West’s most recognised artists.

Reuben Lenkiewicz said: “We are very excited to bring my father’s work to Cockington for the very first time. The Court lends itself to exhibit and showcase work by local artists with regional significance and international acclaim. It is a fantastic opportunity to share the life, ideas and paintings of my father with the many visitors to Cockington who share a love for art and culture. This exhibition will offer artists, the community and visiting tourists a new experience.”

Amongst the many thousands of people who sat for Robert Lenkiewicz over the years, the artist painted many famous people including the Queen. Robert also painted Billy Connolly, Terry Waite, Ruby Wax, Dawn French and Michael Foot.

Artwork at the exhibition will include Mouse with Wool, The Painter with Anna, The Dance, Anna Standing and Anna with Lanterns. Some of the artwork will be for sale.

Marissa Wakefield, Cockington Court Craft Centre Director, said: “We are thrilled to bring Robert Lenkiewicz’s work to Cockington Court. The site enjoys a growing reputation as a regional centre for quality arts and crafts. Adding exhibitions like this underlines our desire to continue to wow our visitors and be a cultural destination of choice for art and craft enthusiasts.”

The exhibition will run from 13 September until 14 October. The Kitchen Gallery is open daily 10am – 4:30pm.
