Cruise down to Cofton Holidays near Dawlish for the annual American Car Show from the 21st – 23rd June 2024. 3500 visitors will enjoy the weekend festival, with the chance to see over 200 different classic American cars including Mustangs, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks and Jeeps.
The biggest American Car Show in the South West, the event is now in its 7th year, and has built a reputation as a destination for motor enthusiasts as well as a great family day out. American car owners will polish up their pride and joy and bring their car for a trip to the Devon coast to show it off to thousands of admirers. Saturday morning will kick off with a cruise through Dawlish town by the beach and back to Dawlish Warren Green so that passers by in the local area can catch a glimpse of a rare or unusual car as they parade by. Petrol heads can enter their American cars into the judging to be awarded prizes including Best In Show, Director’s Cup, Best Custom / Hot Rod and The People’s Choice Award.
Visitors can stay at Cofton Holidays for the weekend, or just visit the Car Show for the day. There is a whole programme packed with fun entertainment across Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. A wide array of enjoy street food vendors will be present, offering a taste of local and international flavour. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a bar in the marquee, providing a relaxed setting to unwind with a refreshing drink.
There will be live music from a lineup of talented performers, including the toe-tapping tunes of Fabulous 59 Ford, the electrifying Elvis tribute Adam Carter and the timeless melodies of Buddy Holly tribute Brohan Collins. Local talents Nikita Louise and Rich Cottell will both take to the stage, alongside mesmerizing performances by Britain’s Got Talent contestant juggler Steve Arnold. To cap off the entertainment on Saturday night, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky.
There’s a plethora of entertainment tailored for the little ones, including Uncle Sam towering above the crowd on stilts and a roaming magician. Children can bounce around to their hearts’ content in the inflatable fun zone, marvel at the Transformers, and enjoy the lively performances by the Cofton Crew, featuring everyone’s favorite mascot, Digby The Dinosaur. Even furry friends are welcome, with the ‘Crofts’ dog show taking place on Saturday afternoon. All dogs are invited to take part, with a wide range of categories to enter and rosettes to be won.
Bookings to stay at Cofton for the weekend of the American Car Show are open now. Guests staying on site go free to the show, and anyone arriving in an American show car will get free entry for up to two people. Plus car show exhibitors can save 15% on their stay using discount code CARSHOW.
Day visitors can buy wristbands on the gate, costing £10 for adults and £5 for children which gives them access to the entire weekend’s festivities, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy all the activities on offer. Showgoers also have access to Cofton’s main facilities including the heated indoor and outdoor pool, high ropes, outdoor splash pad, pump track, restaurant and pub.
Touring pitches for the weekend are available from £100 for two nights. Holiday homes are available from £446 from the Friday to Monday, lodges from £877, cottages from £584, and apartments from £617.
