Are you over the age of 50 and starting to think about where you might want to live when you get older? Even if you haven’t thought about moving Torbay Council would like to hear from you.
The council are carrying out a consultation to help inform its Extra Care Housing Strategy, which will help plan for future housing provision in Torbay.
The consultation also asks questions about what support is needed for housing in later life, such as support to remain in your existing home or what support you need to move.
Everyone who takes part will also have the opportunity to enter a draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.
Councillor Cindy Stocks, Executive Lead for Children and Housing, said: “We know that people make different and difficult decisions about where and how they live as they get older. Some will want to stay living in the same home, others will look to move to more manageable homes, and some may also feel that housing designated for older people best suits their needs.
“I urge anyone over the age of 50, who live in all types of accommodation, or even if you have already moved, to take part. This consultation will really help us shape housing and support for our older population.”
The consultation, which will be closing on Friday 14th December, can be found online here: www.surveymonkey.com/r/
Paper copies of the survey can also be found at libraries across Torbay and at other community venues.
Focus groups are also being organised on Tuesday 4 December and Thursday 6 December 2018. If you would like to attend one of these groups please contact Lois Beech on 07860 608 920 or loisbeech@housinglin.org.uk.
