The fire service were called to reports of a cow stuck in mud in Cornworthy this afternoon, 19th May.
The cow was stranded on mud banks of the River Dart.
One fire appliance from Totnes along with the Specialist Rescue Vehicle from Camels Head were mobilised to the incident at around 4pm.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:
“On arrival incident fire crews reported one cow stranded in esturial mud. Access to the animal was extremely difficult due to the terrain. The animal was rescued by a farmer using one tractor and farmers ropes to retrieve it,”
