Dartmoor Kayaker airlifted to hospital

A kayaker was airlifted from Dartmoor last night after capsizing.

The man who was was part of a group of kayakers, capsized in shallow water and suffered head injuries, said fellow kayaker Adam Boughan.

Emergency service were called to the scene around 5pm, when one of the group raised the alarm by calling 999.

The man was winched aboard an RAF Sea King helicopter from the Upper Dart, he was transported to Derriford hospital.
