Police seek witnesses of Dartmouth Assault

Police have appealed for witnesses of an assault in Dartmouth to come forward.

The incident happened on Sunday 10th July at 00.20am, when a verbal altercation took place outside the Market House Inn in Victoria Road, Dartmouth.  Following this, an assault took place resulting in a 32 year-old man from Dartmouth suffering a broken ankle. He was taken to Torbay District Hospital for treatment.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the assault or preceding altercation and are particularly interested to hear from anyone with mobile phone footage.

A 20 year-old man from Dartmouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail while enquiries continue until 20th July.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or email 101@dc.police.uk quoting reference CR/046339/16.
