A deer caught in railings was rescued by firefighters today, Saturday 19th May.
Fire crews were called to the deer on the road from Heathfield to Summer Lane at around 12.20pm.
One fire engine from Bovey Tracey and a specialist rescue team from Camels Head attended the incident, along with the RSPCA.
“Fire crews worked together with the RSPCA to release the male deer from the railings using hydraulic cutting equipment. The deer was released unharmed into the woods.”
