Devon trains delayed until tonight due to two incidents

A number of trains in Devon are delayed this today, Thursday 28th March due to two incidents on different lines.

A fire next to the track between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple has blocked the line. The line between Exeter St Davids and Taunton is also blocked due to a person being hit.

Great western Railways said on their website, in relation to the Barnstaple line fire: “We are working on sourcing replacement road transport but this will take time.

Due to a fire next to the track between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple the line is blocked,”

Delays are expected until 6pm this evening.

Disruption on the Exeter St Davids to Taunton lines is expected until 8pm.
