Money stolen from shop in distraction theft

Money was stolen from a shop in Teignmouth yesterday, 11th August, in a distraction theft.

The incident happened at Shaldon Bakery on Northumberland Place. It is reported that a man entered the shop and said that his grandmother had left her walking stick. When the employee went to look for it, all the £20 notes were stolen from the till.

A similar incident is reported to have happened in Dawlish, by what is believed to be the same suspect.

The suspect is described as white, tall, bald and wearing glasses. He wore soft shell black coat and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting log number 544 of 11/08/2017.
