Elderly man rescued from house fire

Emergency services were called to a house fire in Kingsteignton early this morning, Sunday 9th December to reports of smoke and an alarm sounding at a property on Clifford Avenue.

Fire crews from Newton Abbot and Torquay attended the incident.

An elderly man was rescued from the fire, which involved paper.

Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, one thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.

The property was slightly damaged by the smoke.
