With summer just around the corner, Exeter Airport is gearing up to welcome an influx of passengers as its sunshine schedule gets into full swing.

May traditionally marks the start of the holiday season for the airport and this year is no different with a raft of summer flights across the Mediterranean starting from Exeter with tour operator TUI in the coming days.

Flights to Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Zante, Menorca and Dalaman all start in early May, adding to TUI’s flights to Cyprus and Majorca, which began in March. And in July summer flights will start to Antalya in Turkey.

TUI is Exeter’s biggest operator and recently announced it was adding 80,000 seats from Exeter to next year’s schedule with 25 flights a week, including a new route to Ibiza and summer flights to Lanzarote and Tenerife.

Ryanair meanwhile will start a new service to Majorca on 2nd May, complementing its year-round flights to Alicante and Malaga, and its summer service to Faro in Portugal which started in April.

And Exeter continues to offer year-round flights to Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Guernsey, Jersey and Newcastle, and summer flight to the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall. Passengers travelling via Dublin can also connect to various American cities and enjoy the benefit of pre-clearing US immigration in Dublin.

Exeter Airport Managing Director Stephen Wiltshire said: “May always marks the start of our main summer season as the full TUI schedule gets underway and builds towards the August peak. We’re delighted that TUI will be adding an extra aircraft for summer 2025 and it means there will be even more choice on offer to passengers from across the region, with the ease and convenience of flying from their local airport.”

Exeter Airport has a total of 25 destinations in nine countries in 2024/25 and employs 250 staff.
