His family have paid tribute to him:

‘Our wonderful boy has left us with such memories. Brave, handsome, fun, we will never, never forget him and the joy he brought into our lives.’

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at 5.45pm on Friday 1st January.

Police, Fire and Ambulance attended the scene where it was established that a Green coloured BMW 323i motorcar travelling towards Plymouth had left the carriageway and struck a tree.

The south bound carriageway of the A38 remained closed whilst a forensic examination of the scene was conducted and re-opened at 2.00am.

Investigating officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses & ask that anyone with information contact them on 101 quoting police log  955 for the 1st of January.
