Fire crews at scene of major blaze in Exeter

Fire crews are at the scene of a large blaze at a recycling centre in the Marsh Barton area of Exeter this morning, Friday 22 April.

Smoke can be scene from around the area with local premises and residents advised to keep their windows closed. The public are being told to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for Devon County Council said on social media:”We have received reports of a large building fire on Christow Road, Marsh Barton Trading Estate, Exeter.

“Please avoid the area and drive with caution and expect reduced visibility due to heavy smoke on the surrounding roads.”
