Fire crews tackled a blaze in Brixham this morning.

Three fire engines from Brixham, Paignton and Torquay were mobilised to the fire at a property in Penn Meadows after reports of a washing machine on fire in an out building just after 9am.

The fire in a utility room had spread to the ground floor of the main house, both were severely damaged by fire. The rest of the house was smoke damaged.

The flat roof of neighbouring property slightly damaged by fire.

A fire investigation officer is investigating the cause of the fire.
