Fire crews called to Ellacombe blaze

The fire service were called to reports of a fire in Ellacombe with a person reported to be still within the property earlier this evening, Tuesday 19th June.

Three fire engines attended the incident on Ellacombe Road at around 6.40pm.

There was no one within the property and all persons were accounted for.

The loft space of the property was severely damaged by the fire.

“On arrival, crews confirmed fire in the roof space involving electrics and insulation, and that all persons were accounted for. Crews used two breathing apparatus sets, a hose reel jet and a safety jet to extinguish the fire. Fire crews also checked adjacent properties for any fire spread.

“The loft space was 100% damaged by smoke with no other damage to the property.

“Police also attended the incident.”
