Fire crews called to Kingsteignton Bungalow fire

The fire service was called to reports of smoke coming from a property in Kingsteignton this afternoon, Tuesday, 6th March.

Two crews from Newton Abbot and one crew from Torquay
were mobilised to the incident in Darran Road at around 14:10.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:

“On arrival the crews confirmed smoke issuing from a single story detached bungalow and got to work quickly.

“The crews used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one safety jet to extinguish the fire and small tools a positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera to ensure he property was safe.

“The fire caused twenty five percent fire damage and seventy five percent damage by heat and smoke

.”
