The Fire Service were called to a report of a fire at a property in Barton Road, Torre at about 11.30am this morning.
Appliances from Torquay, Paignton and Totnes were mobilised to the incident.
The fire is believed to be in the basement of a detached bungalow.
The property is thought to have been severely damaged in the fire.
There were no reported injuries but oxygen is thought to have been administered to some of the occupants.
