Fire crews called to Torquay flat fire

The fire service were called to reports of a fire at a flat in Priory Road, St Marychurch, Torquay at around Midday today.

Two fire appliances from Torquay were mobilised to the incident.

A spokesperson for the fire service said:
“Upon arrival crews confirmed fire in ground floor flat of multiple occupancy. 
“Crews set to work to extinguish the fire using one hose reel jet, four breathing apparatus and thermal image camera. 

“One dry powder extinguisher had also been used prior to the arrival of the fire service. 

“The cause was deliberate,”
