The fire service were called to reports of a fire at a flat in Torquay earlier this evening.
Four fire engines attended the fire at a block of flats in Old Torwood Road, Torquay at around 5.45pm.
Fire crews found the flat well alight, using three hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
One womam has been treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire crews remain at the scene.
The incident has not affected traffic in or around the area.
