Fire crews were called to Brixham this afternoon after reports of a horse stuck in barbed wire in a field.
One fire engine from Brixham and the Specialist Rescue Team from Camels Head were mobilised to the incident at Raddicombe Drive at around 15:45 this afternoon.
The adult mare was freed from the barbed wire and the Specialist Rescue Team have now assisted the horse to stand up and assisting to a stable. The horse was suffering from exhaustion.
