Fire crews tackle tyre blaze in Newton Abbot

Fire service alerted to Paignton house fire by neighbour

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls to a large fire in Ingsdon Lane, Newton Abbot last night.

One fire engine from Newton Abbot was sent to investigate, with a further fire engine mobilised due to the amount of tyres involved.

Around 100 tyres were involved in the fire which was tackled with using foam and extinguished by 11:25pm

Crews remained at the scene until all hotspots were dampened down.
