Fire started in Ellacombe telephone box

Police have appealed for witnesses after a fire was started in a telephone box in Ellacombe, Torquay last night, Monday 24th July.

The incident, in which rubbish was set alight inside the telephone box happened opposite Ellacombe Park on Princes Road between 10pm and 11pm.

One fire engine from Torquay attended.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:
“The fire was out prior to their arrival and carried out an inspection of the area.  The fire had been set deliberately but nobody was on scene,”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting CR/061485/17.
