Newton Abbot fire station have highlighted the importance of access after they had difficulty in accessing Western Road in the town.

“Due to a silver car parked on a corner on double yellow lines we had to get all crew members out of the appliance to help the driver make their way very slowly through the gap. This took a few backwards and forwards maneuvers at reduced slow speed.”

Luckily this was not an emergency situation and lives were not at risk. Crew members were visiting a new block of flats to familiarize themselves with access.
