Fire crews from across Devon are dealing with a large gorse fire on Dartmoor.
The fire service were called to reports of the blaze just after 11am this morning, Sunday 22nd April. They received numerous calls to report the fire at Watern Tor.
Crews from Okehampton, Hatherleigh, North Tawton, Chagford, Tavistock, Chulmleigh, Moretonhampstead, Launceston, Middlemoor, Honiton, Crediton, Danes Castle, Bovey Tracey, Yelverton, Torrington, Holsworthy, Ivybridge, Buckfastleigh, Exmouth, Witheridge, Newton Abbot and Plymstock are in attendance.
The specialist 4×4 from the urban search and rescue team was also mobilised.
Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Ashburton have advised to avoid the area.

The fire service have stated that the fire front was 2km x 3km and fire on all four fronts.
Crews have been at work using beaters and creating fire breaks.
