Torbay Council and TDA are delighted to announce the development of five light industrial units at Lymington Road, Torquay, is on schedule for completion in January 2024.

The project, managed by TDA and constructed by Classic Builders, is part of the Council’s wider plans to improve Torbay’s business, employment and transport infrastructure.

The development will feature modern light industrial facilities and a range of new amenities. Public space improvements include a new coach bay, shelter for waiting passengers, improved toilets, and enhanced lighting throughout the car park.

Members of Torbay Council’s Cabinet visited the site to see the progress of the development for themselves. The development was funded from the Councils’ Growth Fund alongside funding awarded by the Heart of the South West LEP’s Getting Building Fund.

Cllr David Thomas, Leader of the Council and Leader of the Conservative Group, said: “It’s great to see the five new units taking shape as they move towards completion. These new facilities are superbly located for small local businesses to thrive. I’d encourage interested parties to arrange a viewing as early as possible to see what the units can offer. The improvements to public spaces are also welcomed as Lymington Road coach station is the first place many visitors to Torbay see. I look forward to the site’s completion early next year.”

Karl Tucker, Chair of the Heart of the South West LEP, said: “It’s fantastic to see these new units nearing completion, ready to support growing businesses in Torbay with modern, flexible facilities. Developments like this are vital to helping small businesses to scale, and revitalising the local economy.”

The five light industrial units will be available for long-term rent with early enquiries encouraged. Floor space ranges from 2,014 to 2,355 sq. ft and rent starts from £1,360 pcm. Tenants have the benefit of being able to design their own internal fit out. For more information or to arrange a viewing, visit Rightmove and find the property under ‘commercial property to rent’, or call 01803 222356.
