The fire service were called to a property fire in Torquay this morning, Saturday 14th December.
Two crews from Torquay and one crew from Paignton attended the fire at a flat in Higher Erith Road around 10am.
The entire flat was damaged in the blaze involving a sofa with communal areas also affected by smoke.
Police also attended, closing the road.
Devon and Somerset said on their website “They (fire crews) located the fire, involving a sofa, they used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire which damaged an entire flat and caused heat and smoke damage to other communal areas,”
