Activities on the day will include junk modelling, ‘Veg friends’, ‘soft’ archery, face painting, outdoor games, and the chance to plant your own seeds to take home and grow.

There will also be pizza making, met some bees and worms, freebies, and lunch will be provided (the event is free but if you are able to make a donation then give whatever you feel able to).

Partners involved in the event include Torbay Council, SWISCo, Groundwork, Dangerous Dads, DoorStepsArt, Hi-Line, Otter Nursery, DoorstepsArt, Turning Heads, and Exeter Community Energy.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said: “This will be a fantastic free event for families in Torquay and partners are working together to provide a range of activities that will not only be fun but will also encourage children to think about the environment and the simple things they can do to help save the planet.

“Torbay Council will soon launch its new Carbon Neutral Action Plan and as well as the Council working to reduce its carbon footprint we want everyone in Torbay to think about how they can help tackle climate change.”

There are plans to hold similar events taking place in Paignton and Brixham in the summer.
