Fundraising campaign launched to restore Oldway Mansion

After many false stops and starts, the latest being caused by Covid-19, the Friends of Oldway is excited to announce the start of their fundraising campaign to aid in the restoration of Oldway Mansion.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We had initially hoped to kickstart our campaign with an AGM in Oldway and then regular Mansion and Garden tours, but both of these plans have been put on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions.

“The large sums of money, that will come from national grants, are also currently unobtainable, but the Friends are keen to see progress and have decided to re-open the existing Tearooms as soon as possible, initially for takeaways.”

The Crowdfunding campaign will support this aim and help in securing future funding. The Crowdfunder campaign will run till 29 July 2020.

If you are as passionate as the Friends in wanting Oldway to be restored, please visit
https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/oldway-tea-rooms to donate and see what you can receive in return.

The Friends realise this is a difficult time to ask for money, but hopefully, people who have enjoyed Oldway over the years will want to join with us in taking this small but important first step to restoring Oldway Mansion.

The Friends also want all those who love Oldway to become involved in its restoration and future, by joining the Friends Group and actively volunteering assistance where this is needed.

The Gardening Group have made a great difference to the gardens and we want to achieve the same for the Mansion.
