Green waste collection points return to Torbay

Torbay Council are pleased to announce the return of the green waste collection points to Torquay and Brixham from this weekend.

The first event will take place on Sunday 8 May 2022 at Brixham College, Higher Ranscombe Road between 9.30am and 1.30pm.

The second and third events will take place on the 15 and 29 May 2022, 9.30am – 1.30pm, at Torquay Town Hall car park, this has moved from the previous location of Lymington Road car park.

Torquay Town Hall car park will be closed to other vehicles on 15 May 2022 only, the first Torquay collection point, between 8.00am and 2.00pm to allow for the set up and traffic flow to be organised. Parking will be available on all other Sunday’s when the green waste collection is taking place in the Torquay Town Hall car park, but will be limited to the first three rows of the car park,

When visiting the service in Torquay residents will need to queue and wait to unload their vehicles.

From June the service will resume as Brixham the first Sunday of every month and Torquay the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member of Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council said: “The return of the green waste collection points is great for Torbay residents, offering another way to recycle green waste across Torbay”

The service will be carried out by SWISCo, a Torbay Council company, on behalf of Torbay Council.
