Patrick the pony to be appointed Mayor of Cockington on Saturday the 23rd of July at 7pm in The Drum Inn garden, Cllr Andrew Barrand will be presenting Patrick with his bespoke chain.
Patrick The Pony is a 7hh miniature Shetland, who is well known in Cockington, he lived there, for about 2 years until sadly there was not any suitable grazing fields available for him, so he had to leave. The Drum Inn’s manager Matthew Mckinley-Booton appreciated Patrick The Pony so much he organised a special place for him to come and visit regularly, so the locals and tourists can still enjoy seeing him in Cockington.
Patrick The Pony is the official mascot for The War Horse Memorial, he helped raise thousands of pounds for equine charities.
Patrick is also the official Mascot for Devon Recovery Learning Community who are partners of The NHS, supporting many with mental health and recovery.
Patrick has visited Hospitals, Recovery Groups, Mental Health Wards, Specialised Schools and Wakes, where he has provided comfort and support to many going through challenging times.
Patrick has helped us to raise money for Ukraine with Devon Shire Carriages and also we have raised money for 2 AED Units in Cockington with the help of the kind community.
We believe Patrick would be a brilliant Pony Mayor for Cockington, for being non judgemental and genuinely caring and supportive to all.
