Over 100 guests were evacuated from a Torquay hotel late last night, Saturday 24 December due to a fire.
Emergency services were called to the Headland Hotel just after 10pm to reports of a kitchen fire.
10 fire crews attended the fire, with crews coming from as far away as Burham-on-Sea
Three fire engines and an aerial platform ladder were initially mobilised to the incident. More appliances were mobilised following confirmation from crews first at the scene that not all persons had evacuated or been accounted for. Further requests for assistance were also made.
By 0051 hours it was confirmed that all persons had been accounted for. 4
occupants were escorted out by fire crews using ladders.
Police and ambulance crews were also in attendance.
The kitchen was severely damaged by fire and the dining area severely smoke damaged.
All guests have been moved to alternative accommodation.
