Police say he left his home address in Vincents Road, Kingsbridge in a distressed state. He is thought to be wearing a beige corduroy jacket.

Posting on Facebook, Kingsbridge Police said: “There are genuine concerns for his safety and we really want to find him and ensure he gets the help he needs.

“Earlier today the National Police Air Service helicopter attended from Bournemouth to conduct searches over rural areas of the town.

“It may be that one of his friends are letting him stay at their home for a few days. If this is the case, could I ask that you please get in touch and let us know that he’s safe. So many people are worried about Oz and want to know that he’s OK.

“Oz is well known amongst the surfing community and around Bantham. If anybody has ANY information which may assist us then please call 101 quoting Log 947 26/10/18”
