Hele Road in Torquay closed due to serious collision

Update: The road is now clear. The vehicles involved in the collision have been removed and traffic is back to normal.

Traffic has returned to normal

Emergency services remain at the scene of a serious accident on Hele Road this morning, 29th January.

Police, fire and ambulance crews are at the scene and the road is closed in both directions between between Orchard Road and Barton Hill Road / Barton Road.

Police are directing traffic.

Locals report that there are major delays.

Devon and Cornwall Police posted on twitter:

“Emergency services dealing with an accident in #Torquay at the roundabout Hele Road & Barton Road please avoid the area if at all possible there may be delays #Torbay #Accident Log 97”

Police say to expect considerable delays around the area and ask for drivers to be patient.
