A helium balloon in the water off Preston beach in Torbay sparked a coastguard call out last night, Wednesday 19th June.
Torbay Coastguard, Berry Head Coastguard and Torbay RNLI were tasked by Maritime and Coastgua,rd Agency after concerns were raised for the safety of what was believed to be a person in the water.
Torbay Coastguard said on Facebook today: “Team members first on scene quickly identified the object of concern and directed RNLITorbay to the location. Thankfully the object turned out to be a helium Balloon,”
