Fire crews from across the area attended a house fire in Torquay this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to reports of an electrical appliance on fire at a property on Ash Hill Road just after 2.30pm.
Fire crews from Torquay, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Brixham along with an incident command unit from Totnes and Incident Support Unit from Bovey Tracey attended the incident.
The road was closed whilst firefighters dealt with the blaze.
The first floor was well alight, with the property suffering from major damage.
One person suffered from smoke inhalation.
