Hundreds complete ride for Rowcroft cycle challenge

Organisers hope the hundreds of participants will have raised in excess of £40,000 to help fund Rowcroft’s vital services.

Rachel Durrant, 39 from Chudleigh, who completed the 24km route, said: “I’m a radiographer at Torbay Hospital and I see first hand the good work that Rowcroft does.”

While Emily Farnell, 42 from Chudleigh added: “I took part because Rowcroft gave my mum the mosot amazing end of life care and I’ve been doing events to support the hospice ever since.”

Rowcroft’s Events Manager, Daniel Robson, is delighted with the amount raised for local families in need of Rowcroft’s services.

He said: “On behalf of everyone at Rowcroft Hospice I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who set their alarms early on a Sunday morning to come and cycle 24km through beautiful South Devon and raise vital funds for local families.

“Every pound raised will help the hundreds of people who need our support in Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and beyond to share precious moments with the people who mean everything to them. We are so grateful for your support – thank you.”

Daniel’s special message of thanks also extends to the 84 volunteers who generously donated their time to help with the running of Ride for Rowcroft.

He said: “Without the help of our incredible army of volunteers we simply would not be able to organise and run events such as Ride for Rowcroft. Thank you to all those who so kindly helped at Sunday’s event; we really appreciate your support and believe us when we say we simply couldn’t do it without you!”
