International Market comes to the English Riviera

Market Place (Europe) Ltd have teamed up with Torbay Council to bring fine food, drinks, and crafts from across the world to the English Riviera.

The international market will be located on Princess Parade at Torquay Marina, from Friday 11 to Sunday 20 August 2023.

The international market will bring an opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy dishes from across the world, sample something a little bit different and experience culinary treats they may not have seen or tried before. With over 25 countries represented on the market, Market Place (Europe) Ltd are confident there is something for everyone.

Market Place have a long history of delivering a variety of different market events including at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the Tall Ships Festival in Belfast.

Andy Pidgen, Operations Manager at Market Place (Europe), said: “We are really looking forward to bringing this specialist market to the English Riviera for the first time.

“At the international market, customers can enjoy tastes from across the globe, visitors can really immerse themselves in a worldwide retail experience.”

Visitors to the international market this summer will find stalls to suit the whole family’s taste buds.

There will be a dazzling array of great street food including Exotic Burgers, Salt and Pepper Chicken, Greek Gyros, French Tartiflette, Toasties, Moroccan and Chinese, Pie and Mash, Wood-fired Pizza, Afro-Caribbean, German Sausages, India Chicken Curry, Mexican and Lebanese, and new for 2023 Shawarma Grill.

If that was not enough there are also amazing desserts on offer to eat on the Promenade or take home, from baklava, cheesecake, brownies with fresh whipped cream, to crepes and galettes, churros, slush and ice cream, confectionery, fudge, cookie dough and made fresh on the market macaroons.

The international market stalls will be open from 10am to 8pm each day and 10am to 7pm on Sunday (except the last Sunday when it will be open from 10am to 5pm).
